The Pithy Take

The NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council) is one of the largest, most effective organizations combating the relentless march that is climate change. They utilize scientists, lawyers, and other environmentalist specialists to protect Earth’s wildlife and places, and ensure the right of people to clean air, clean water, and healthy communities.

Their guide to safe drinking water discusses not only the possibility of lead in water but also PFAS (“forever chemicals”), atrazine, pathogens, nitrates, arsenic, and more. It also addresses what to do if you believe your water violates federal standards, and other questions about your drinking water.
