The Pithy Take
Risk, created in 1957 by Albert Lamorisse, is a strategy board game about conquest. It sounds intimidating, but because its rules are fairly simple, it’s a good game for children (10+) and adults. The board is a map of the world, and players take turns to attempt to capture territories from other players. You can attack, defend, and form alliances—it’s a classic probabilistic game with dashes of human interaction throughout.
