The Pithy Take
Foreign Affairs is run by the Council on Foreign Relations, a nonpartisan non-profit dedicated to analyzing and understanding international affairs, particularly through the lens of U.S. foreign policy. Otherwise put, while many news organizations have an “international news” section, Foreign Affairs is entirely about the U.S. effect on global politics.
As you can imagine, it covers a broad range of topics and a broad range of countries (for instance, “The World According to Xi Jinping,” “Trade Wars: The Fight Over the Global Economy’s Future,” “The Sources of American Power,” and “Innovation Power: How Technology Will Shape Geopolitics“).
Via essays, reports, books, a podcast, and more, Foreign Affairs is incredibly useful as a high-level, thorough, substantive, and intelligent take on how the U.S. impacts the world today.
